David Alan Mckennon, Sr.

David Alan "Stretch" Mc Kennon, Sr., age 47, a resident of Cecil Farm Rd. in Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, February 25th, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for David will be conducted Sunday, February 27th, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Brother Dickey Lindsey officiating. Entombment will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A Harley Davidson hearse, provided by Williams Funeral Home will be used to transport "Stretch" and lead the procession to the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The McKennon family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 -9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
David was born Nov. 23, 1963 in Garden City, Michigan, the son of the late Arthur Odell and Grace Patricia Cothran McKennon and the husband of Jannette Fuller McKennon. He was a mechanic for McFall Sod and Seed and was a truck driver for many years at Robinette Trucking. David was a jack of all trades and his hobby was taking things apart and putting them back together. David enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. He loved his dog Sugar Baby and was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. David had a heart of gold and would give to anybody in need.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Cody McKennon and D.J. McKennon of Mt. Pleasant, Lauren McKennon and Lucy McKennon of Columbia; grandchildren: Bryce McKennon of Mt. Pleasant, Brently Williams and Paitley Craig of Columbia; three brothers: Jackie Sharon McKennon of Summertown, Buddy Sandra McKennon , Eddie Ruby McKennon and one sister: Cathy Carl Lovett of Mt. Pleasant; nieces and nephews: Holly, Christie, Buddy, Jr., Wendy, Chad, Patty, Bubba, Kevin, Angel, Alan and Blake; special great nieces and nephews: Jaida, Spencer and Ansley; He was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Smith, a daughter, Megan McKennon and a nephew, J.J. McKennon.
Pallbearers will be Cody McKennon, D.J. McKennon, Bubba McKennon, Nelson Roberts, Johnny Potts, Mike "Moochie" McKennon and Wade "Cool" Newcomb.
Honorary Pallbearers will be fellow employees at Robinette Trucking, McFall Sod Farm, Jacob McConnell, Nick Gill and Ronnie Fuller.
