Daryl Lee McCann, 60, of Pulaski, passed away April 1, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center, from complications of a heart attack.
Daryl was born December 8, 1951 in Hayward, California to the late Sammie Lee McCann and Dorothy Mae Vanmetre McCann. He was married for 40-years to Betty Ann Myers McCann. Mr. McCann was an avid member of his community, serving many organizations in California before moving to Tennessee in 2008. He was a member of The Rotary Club, Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce West Sacramento, Folsom, and Davis, The California Newspaper Publishers Association, and a proud supporter of several Little League teams.
He worked in the radio industry for over 30 years. In his radio career he was an on-air personality and program director, in many radio markets. In 1988, he and his wife launched a community newspaper in West Sacramento, California, until he sold it and retired in 1996.
A memorial service for Mr. McCann will be held Thursday at 1pm at the 7th Day Adventist Church in Pulaski.
In addition to his wife, Daryl's children are left behind to share his legacy: Neal McCann of Pulaski, Lucinda Jason Storm of Pulaski; grandchildren: Tommie Clemons of Arlington, TX, Gabriel Storm of Pulaski; mother and father-in-law: Pauline Woodhouse and the late Ira G. Myers and Harold Woodhouse; brother-in-law: Don Myers of San Angelo, TX; his aunts: Betty Damon Fogg of Pulaski, Peg Hopper of Pulaski, and Shirley Garza of Tucson, AZ; one niece: Michelle Ryan of San Angelo, TX, cousins: Sharon Young of Virginia Beach, VA, Toni Phillips of Port Orchard, WA, George McCann of Sacramento, CA, Donna Brewer of Fremont, CA, Kenneth Clark of Fresno, CA, Earlene Franzman of Garden Grove, CA, Nona Rekasis of Walnut Creek, CA, Cindy Garza of Tucson, AZ.
