Darren Scoggins

Darren Scoggins, a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2023, at his home in New Orleans, Louisiana. Born on July 28, 1970, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Norma Burks Scoggins and the late James Scoggins.

Darren’s journey through his life was marked by his love for his family, his dedication to law and politics, and his overall passion for helping others.

Family was the cornerstone of Darren's existence, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his loving mother, Norma Scoggins, and his siblings: Denette Pennington (Randy), Duane Scoggins (Gay), and Dana Ross. Darren's nieces and nephews, Amanda Scoggins, Whitney Pennington, Taylor Holder, Derek Pennington, Zachary Holder, and Yeiser Ross, special friend: Melissa Barrett; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jason Potts, Jason Guffey, Gabe Smith, Steve Probst, Paul Van Hoesen, Ross Miller, Zach Holder, Yeiser Ross, and Lanny Rich.

Honorary pallbearers will be Derel Pennington, Tommy Sealey, Bro. Larry McEwan, Judge Don Ash, and Judge Russ Parkes.

A celebration of Darren's life will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. The family will receive friends starting at 11:00 AM until the start of the service. Reverends Larry McEwen and Jason Beck will officiate the service, paying tribute to Darren's remarkable life and the impact he had on those around him. Darren will be laid to rest at The Arbors at Polk Memorial Gardens.
