Danny Wayne Smith

Danny “Dano” Wayne Smith, age 44, resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Danny was born March 13, 1972, the son of Wilma Irene Scott Smith and the late William Wallace Levi Smith. He was employed by Tietgen’s CeeBee Grocery in Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services for Danny will be conducted Saturday, June 25, at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Dickey Lindsey officiating. Burial will be in the Blowing Springs Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jason White, James Scott, Jr., DeWayne Glass, John Scott, Darin Kennedy and T.J. Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers will be immediate family as well as past and present employees of Tietgen’s CeeBee Grocery in Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors in addition to his mother include one brother, Wallace Smith of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Tresa (Phillip) Hines and Shelia (Marty) Roddy, both of Mt. Pleasant; nieces, Tonya (Jonathan) Holt, Destine (Tommy Lee) Ragsdale, Misty Roddy (Darrel Williams), Clarissa Roddy (Matthew Fitzsimmons), Alyna Roddy, and Rebecka Roddy; great nieces and nephews, Riley Ragsdale, Nickolai Roddy, Tristin Ragsdale, Lily Williams, Lorelai Holt, Bryson Ragsdale and Belle Williams. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie Clyde Scott and Lena Pearl Scott.

Danny was a “good old country boy” who loved cars and anything with wheels. He was friends with everyone he met and although he had no children of his own, he raised his family…..he loved his babies. He enjoyed watching movies and would do anything for anyone at any time.
