Daniel Francisco “Pancho” Febres, 66, of Columbia, passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2021.
Pancho was born on November 10, 1954, in Viña del Mar, Chile. At the age of 21, he moved to New York to make a better future for himself. After living in New York for 20 years, he and his wife Maria moved to Columbia in 1993. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and traveling (specifically to the beach), but most of all, he enjoyed watching sports, especially soccer. Pancho retired from General Motors after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife Maria E. Febres of 42 years, two daughters Jessica (Chris) Piearce of Columbia and Jennifer (Michael) McClure of Loranger, Louisiana; grandchildren Brylee and Anslee McClure, Jaxson and Raegan Piearce; father Daniel Febres of Viña del Mar, Chile; sister Gina Garnica of Tarrytown, NY; brother Leonel (Maria Teresa) Febres of Viña del Mar, Chile; Claudia (Leandro) Leiva of Beacon, NY; brother Fabian (Erika) Febres of Buchanan, NY and many nieces and nephews.
Pancho was preceded in death by his mother, Armanda (Daniel) Febres and sister Silvia (Carlos) Adasme, both of Viña del Mar, Chile.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 12 from 2:00-6:00 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Memorial service will follow starting at 6:00 p.m.
