Daniel "Danny" Charles Richard

Daniel “Danny” Charles Richard, age 35, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at his home after a courageous battle against brain cancer.

Danny was born on March 4, 1980 to Debra Fort Swain in Islip, New York. He married Melissa Newport on July 27, 2002. Danny loved his family deeply. He enjoyed spending time with his sons, Keegan and Caleb. They especially enjoyed target shooting and spending time outdoors. Danny loved to see his boys enjoy life. He was a hard worker and very dependable. He was a manager at Publix for eight years. He was funny, had a great sense of humor, and was known for being a jokester. Danny was always making people smile until his passing. Danny was a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. He believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior.

The family will visit with friends on Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediate follow at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Vassar officiating. Entombment will follow at Polk Memorial Mausoleum.

Danny is survived by his loving wife Melissa Richard of Columbia, Tennessee; sons Keegan Richard and Caleb Richard both of Columbia, Tennessee; mother Debbie and Ron Swain of Georgia; in-laws Daryl and Nora Newport of Hohenwald; sister-in-law Kim Newport of Michigan; brother Mike and Irene Richard of Georgia; nieces Leela Richard and Lucy Richard of Georgia; and grandmother Naomi McCracken.

Pallbearers will be Daryl Newport, Paul Rogers, Tommy Case, Mike Richard, Eric Price, and Rush Harrison.
