Daniel Adell Pope

Mr. Daniel Adell ?Dan? Pope, 71, a resident of Bailey Street in Columbia, died Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Pope will be conducted Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by the Tennessee National Guard. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Giles, County Tennessee native was the son of the late Albert Franklin and Cordie Rolland Pope and the husband of Pauline Norman Pope. He was first married to Nettie Jane Prince Pope who died in 1993. Mr. Pope was a self-employed carpenter and retired from the maintenance department for Maury County. He was an avid fisherman, gardner, and loved building and construction. He served our country in the United States Navy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Billy Patty Pope and Anthony Lee Pope, Sr. both of Columbia, TN; two brothers, Albert Hazel Pope of Columbia, TN and Allen Sandra Pope of Elkton, TN; five sisters, Jewell James Walker, Greatel Charles Wales both of Columbia, TN, Shelby Jean Robert Owens of Culleoka, TN, Earline Anderson of Pulaski, TN and Barbara Ann Cecil Kelley of Columbia, TN; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Victoria Pope, Tabitha William Brewer, Justin Pope, Anthony Pope, Jr., Amanda Hickman, Jamie Hickman and Melissa Sanders; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Henry Teeples of Columbia, TN ;several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Denise Hickman; three brothers, Louis Dean Pope, Howard Pope and Joe Pope; a sister, Elizabeth Teeples.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Pope, Anthony Pope, Jr., Terry Pope, Jerry Grimmett, Dennis Owens, Kenny Owens, Ray Woody and Rex Pogue.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Gibran Naddy, William Brewer, Justin Pope, Fulton Rankin and Bob Russell.
