Dalton G Burks

Dalton G Burks passed on to be with our Lord on January 21, 2017 at the Age of 79 in Columbia, Tennessee. He was born in Dallas, Texas the Son of Eddy E Burks and Mary E Wilmoth Burks Giesecke of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, Stepfather, Ralph Giesecke, and the Mothers of his Children Barbara G Burks Alums of Leonard, Texas and Sandra G Burks of Plano, Texas.

He is Survived by his Brother Danny S Burks Sr. of Flint, Texas, Sister Susan B Newsome of Levelland, Texas, Daughters Deborah D Wiggins of Leonard, Texas, Tammy L Marchand of Trenton, Texas, Nicole R Barnes of Spring Hill, Tennessee and Stepdaughter Karla Cochran of Floresville, Texas. He has 14 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.

After completing his service with the US Navy in 1960, he began a career with Texas Instruments. Starting as a Production Operator and through extensive training became a Mid Level Manager working at the Dallas, Sherman and Lubbock Sites. TI called on him many times to travel to various Semiconductor Factory sites to solve Technical problems with the Facilities. He retired after 31 and 1/2 years of service in 1991. He always had great admiration for TI and his colleagues at TI. After TI, he worked for a short time as Engineering Manager at a Houston Company then moved on to Motorola in Austin, Texas. At Motorola he was a Construction Manager and Managed construction on two Major Semiconductor Facilities in Austin and one in Chandler Arizona. In 2002 Dalton Retired from Motorola, after 10 Years of Service.

He Moved to Columbia, Tennessee in 2014 to be closer to his youngest Daughter and grandchildren. He was a Member of the Brentwood Baptist Church, Station Hill Campus in Spring Hill, TN. He spent the final years with his Home Projects and enjoying time with his family.
