Mrs. Daisy Bassham Thomas, 97, a resident of Ivy Crest in Pulaski died Thursday, October 16, 2003, at Hillside Hospital in Pulaski.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas will be conducted Saturday, October 18, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Ray Penna and Lytle Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Giles County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Elizabeth Roper Bassham and wife of the late Oswald Thomas. She was a retired legal secretary for Judge Thetford in Montgomery, AL and a member of Main Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Rachel H. Pratt of Albertville, AL; two nephews, Mr. G. David Patsy Elder, Jr. of Madison, TN and Mr. H. Donald Peggy Hathcoat of Minor Hill, TN; three brothers-in-law, Myron Dot Thomas of Columbia and Jimmy Ruby Thomas of Maryville, TN and Roy Ellingboe of Tampa, FL; a sister-in-law, Margaret Thomas of Mt. Pleasant; several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Janie Hathcoat and Mary Elder.
Pallbearers will be James Bailey, David Edwards, Gene Craig, Hal Brown, Larry Holden and William Hathcoat. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Main St. Church of Christ, Dr. Vance Hendrickson, Dr. Paul Sands, Tom Hardin, W.C. Johnson and Charles ?Spud? Crotzer.
