Curzon Kay

April 20, 1917 — May 31, 2012

Curzon Kay was born April 20, 1917 in Oakland, California, the son of the late Joseph Kay and Beatrice Curzon Kay. Curzon was the husband of the late June Virginia Peters Kay. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Curzon had a varied career, working as an agriculture consultant, a sugar company manager and as the vice president of a bank. He was a member of the Masonic lodge in California. After moving to Summertown 15 years ago, Mr. Kay became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant and the Mt. Pleasant Rotary club. His daughter shared that he was always positive, always grateful and was a most loving father and grandfather.

Mr. Kay passed away on Thursday, May 31, at the home of his daughter in Summertown.

Survivors include his second wife, Jeanette Stumpe Brink Kay of Lawrenceburg; his children, Pamela Hope Leslie Kay Hunt of Summertown, Peter Curzon Audrey Kay of Washington and David Garrison Dawn Kay of California; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; step-children, Dan Brink, Tom Brink, Kevin Brink, Beverly Aplin, Jane Weeks and Melinda Castor and several step-grandchildren.

The family will hold a private service at which time Mr. Kay's cremated remains will be interred along with his first wife at The Farm cemetery in Summertown.

Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with their arrangements.
