Conrad Hawes Noddin

May 10, 1948 — March 15, 2016

Mr. Conrad Hawes Noddin, age 67, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. Conrad was born in Bangor, Maine on May 10, 1948 to Cornelius Albert Noddin and Edna Mary Hawes Noddin.

Conrad studied music formally since the age of eight. At the age of fifteen he was performing professionally with working bands such as The Jester Holiday, recording the hit song, “The Wall". In 1968 he moved to California attending San Francisco Music and Art Institute and then transferring to Los Angeles where he received a Bachelor of Music Degree from California Institute of the Arts (Walt Disney) majoring in Composition. In 1971, he married Alisa Frankfurt, a childhood actress from Beverly Hills. Conrad branched out to various forms of musical expression including studying the sitar under the direction of the world famous artist Ravi Shankar.

After Cal Arts and marriage, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee where he started working for Country Music star Freddie Hart who had #1 hits with Capitol Records. Freddie co-wrote and recorded one of Conrad’s songs, “My Lady Loves”. Soon, Conrad was asked by the great Country Hall of Famer, Marty Robbins, to join his band and also be the stage manager for live shows. He played piano and trumpet for Marty the last four years of that performer’s life, as well as writing exclusively for his publishing company and playing on several of his albums for CBS records. He also appeared on several televised performances of the Grand Ole Opry and around the world. In 1981 and 1982, Conrad as a member of the Marty Robbins Band, won the coveted Band of the Year Award televised live from Nashville. That year they won out over such stiff fellow nominees as Alabama and The Charlie Daniels Band. In 1982, they also performed by command performance at the White House for President Ronald Regan. Marty Robbin’s also recorded one of Conrad’s songs, “I’ll Go To Pieces”. After Marty’s death, Conrad recorded a special tribute to him entitled, “Marty My Friend”.

Later, Conrad and his wife, Alisa moved to Malibu, California and started their own video production company, Malibu Video Productions where they filmed many music videos, as well as horse events. In 2004, Conrad and Alisa moved back to Tennessee where he created the media-based website, “Nashville Newzine” ( www.nashvillenewzine.com ). During this time, they worked for Gary Lee Love Productions, interviewing and taping top Country Music Artists.

Conrad was a minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses and served as an elder for more than 35 years. He loved Jehovah God with his whole heart and whole soul. When all was said and done, he believed that his love of God and serving Him was more important than fame and fortune.

Conrad is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Alisa.
