Coleah Louise Dunavant Henson

July 4, 1913 — August 25, 2004

Mrs. Coleah Louise Zeigler Dunavant Henson, 91, a former longtime resident of South Main St. in Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at Columbia Care and Rehabilitation Center in Columbia.

Funeral services for Mrs. Henson will be conducted Saturday, August 28, 2004 at 10:00 am at the Williams Funeral Home of Columbia with Reverend Bob Adair officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

The Giles County native was the daughter of the late James Taylor and Maxie Hannah Zeigler. She was first married to the late Buford Dunavant, who died in 1968, and then she was married to the late Virgil Henson, who died in 1999. She was a retired door greeter at K-mart, a member of Maury Regional Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, an avid gardner and a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church.

Mrs. Henson is survived by three daughters, Barbara Frank Nicholson, Linda Dixon, both of Columbia and Sherri Bowman, of Chapel Hill, NC; a son, Harry Ruth Dunavant of Columbia; a brother, Cyril Josephine Zeigler of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ann Wallace; a grandson, Anthony Wallace; three brothers, Loyd Zeigler, Andy Zeigler and Denzil Zeigler; a sister, Ruth Manning.

Pallbearers will be Tim Nicholson, Keith Dixon, Ronnie Dixon, Richard Dunavant, Tracy Dunavant, Gene Fields, Kelsey Walker and Bill Zeigler. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of the Highland Park Baptist Church.
