Clinton Hodge

August 30, 1942 — January 22, 2011

Clinton was born on August 30, 1942 in Maury County. He was the son of the late George Nick and Cora Lucy Workman Hodge. Clinton was retired from Johnson Contractors as a general laborer. He had also worked at Maury Steel Company. Clinton loved working with his mules. He loved being involved with Mule Day events with his friends, including mule pulling.

Clinton is survived by a daughter, Gina Scott Peterson of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Clifford Clinton Hodge of Nolensville; two sisters, Carlene "Tootsie" William Fitzgerald of Culleoka and Lucy Davis of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Glen Katherine Hodge of Mt. Pleasant; and two grandsons, Andrew Peterson and Aaron Peterson both of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Junior Hodge, Gus Hodge, Julie Nelson and Margret Wood.

Mr. Clifton Hodge was 68 years old and a resident of Hodge Road in Mt. Pleasant. He passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mr. Hodge will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rick Points officiating. Interment will follow at Blowing Springs Cemetery.

The Hodge Family will receive friends from 5 PM until 9 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be his nephews and great-nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Workman, James "Jim Bo" Workman, Horton Jones, Nicky Savage and Pink Child.
