Mr. Clem Goodman, 75, a resident of Joy Road in Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, January 9, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Goodman will be conducted Friday, January 11, at 3:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Greg Gwin officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.
The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:30 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
Born in Lewis County, he was the son of the late Richard and Maude Brown Goodman and husband of Norma Holtsford Goodman. He was a devoted husband, retired supervisor from General Electric for 20 years, longtime owner and operator of Dogs and More hot dog stand and a Mt. Pleasant city commissioner for 2 terms. He was a member of the Collegeview Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Shelia Gary Smalley of Jackson and Lisa Jeff Harris of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Jimmy Edna Goodman of Columbia; grandchildren, Mindy Kent Baumgardner of Jackson, Kelly Joel Gwin of Chapel Hill , John Eli Harris, Jill Harris and Jacob Harris, all of Mt. Pleasant; 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Joe and Glen Goodman and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Dale Lindsey, Wally Grimes, Mike Pruitt, Nicky Savage, Fred Brown, Ron Rochelle, Robbie Davis, Kent Baumgardner and Joel Gwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Roy Thompson, Arthur Hanes, Gary Lovell, Jim Bailey and Robert Abbott.
Memorials may be made to Columbia Academy, 1101 W. 7th St., Columbia, TN 38401 in honor of John Eli Harris.
