Mrs. Claudia Marie Jacobs Collins, 83, a resident of Greely Drive in Columbia, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at NHC/Hillview Nursing Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Collins will be conducted Thursday, July 31, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Swango officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Garden Cemetery in Lawrence County. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Lawrence County native was the daughter of the late Tom Jacobs and Vertie Lou Adams Jacobs Collins. She was the widow of the late Hershal Roy Collins. She was a homemaker and a avid gardner and quilter. She was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary l. Bobby Dye of Culleoka; a son, Anthony L. Patricia Collins of Columbia; two sisters, Billie James L. Burleson of Summertown and Norma Lawrence Clymer of Mt. Juliet; a brother Patrick H. Sue Collins of Mt. Juliet; a son-in-law, Kenneth Riley of Columbia; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jimmie Lou Riley; one son, Richard Wayne Collins; a grandson, Raymond Eugene Dye; several sisters and brothers.

Pallbearers will be Mark Dye, Michael T. Collins, Jeffery Riley, David Riley, Troy Clymer, Larry Clymer, James E. Burleson, Robert Burleson, Tracy Burleson and Michael Collins.
