Mr. Claude Otto ?Pete? Goodman, 84, a resident of Carthell Road in Columbia, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2006 at NHC Hillview Nursing Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Claude ?Pete? Goodman will be conducted Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at 10:00 am at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Brother Joseph Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Claude Otto and Jessie Kirk Goodman and the husband of Ila Sanders Goodman of Columbia. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and retired as the owner & operator of Goodman Floor Covering in Columbia. He was a member of the VFW and the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Neil Paula Goodman of Columbia; granddaughter, Susan McKrakin of Illinois; great granddaughters, Nickey Davis of Mt. Pleasant and Kristy Jimmy Tidwell of Columbia and a great-great granddaughter, Lauren Alisa Tidwell of Columbia. He was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Goodman.
Pallbearers will be Charles Clymore, John Chadwell, Bill Harman, Mike Sanders, Norman Bryant, and Chad Hollis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Chaffin, William Johnson, Phil Clark, Bill Sanders, members of the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 and the VFW.
