Mount Pleasant

Claude T. Brawner, age 94, passed away peacefully in his home on October 28, 2024 in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.

He was born April 4, 1930 on a farm on Anderson Creek located in Lawrence County to William and Isla Brawner. He was blessed with 11 brothers and sisters that he loved dearly. He enlisted in the US Airforce in 1951 and spent most of his time in Korea serving during the Korean War. He received word that his mother was gravely ill and returned home to care for her. In 1957, he married a beautiful redhead, Faye Martin Brawner, and together they had two children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He ran a prominent business, Brawner’s Auto Electric Service, for over 30 years where he worked alongside his son-in-law, Robbie Frazier. He also served on the board of directors for the Mount Pleasant Power System for 30 years. Claude was a true patriot and loved his country dearly, but more importantly he was a God-fearing man and lived his life serving the Lord. He worshipped at Locust Street Church of Christ his entire adult life. His favorite scripture was Psalms 1 and he strived every day to be a faithful Christian.

Claude’s favorite pastime was woodworking. He spent many hours in his workshop perfecting his craft. He is widely known for his pristine carpenter bee traps. He also loved watching westerns with his favorite being McClintock.

Claude leaves a legacy behind in his wife: Faye Brawner; children: Randy Brawner and Tammie (Robbie) Frazier; grandchildren: Michael Brawner and Hannah (Nathan) Coble; great-grandchildren: Andrew Frazier and Graham Coble. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that he loved and deeply appreciated all their visits and phone calls.

His greatest loss was his grandson, Drew Frazier, who left us way too soon. He is now reunited in heaven with Drew as well as his parents: William and Isla Brawner; daughter in law: Sally Brawner, and siblings: Lawrence Brawner, Wilburn Brawner, Elden Brawner, Eva Oxford, Inez Adams, Hazel Cummins, Nannie Bell Hanback, Orin Brawner, Amy Clair Cummins, Raymond Brawner, and Joe Brawner.

Pallbearers will be Charles Oxford, Austin Adams, Sonny Cummins, Bobby Cummins, Kenny Cummins, Barry Brawner, David Brawner, Jerry Brawner, Kent Cummins, Nathan Coble, and Andrew Frazier.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Edwards, Hendley Edwards, Bobby McCloughlin, Tony Brawner, his nephew who preceded him in death, and his irreplaceable son-in-law, Robbie.
