Mr. Claud J. Guthrie, 73, a resident of the Lawrenceburg Highway in the Rockdale Community, died Monday, May 5, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Guthrie will be conducted Wednesday, May 5, 2003 at 2:30 P.M. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Jeff Waldrop and Jeffery Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in the Summertown Cemetery with military honors being provided by herbert Griffin American Legion Post # 19. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. and Tuesday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home.

The Lawrence County native was the son of the late Jessie Lee and Ruby Workman Guthrie and the husband of Cecle Gray Guthrie of the Rockdale Community. He was a retired supervisor of Custom Steel Fabricators, Inc. and a member of the Sandy Hook Church of Christ. He was a member of the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19 and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

In additon to his wife, he is survived by four sisters, Mary Sue Kennedy of Mt. Pleasant; Sarah Bob Crawford of Toledo, OH, Nell Louie Garretson and
Bertha Bell both of Franklin, TN; Special niece, Kathy Walker and two nephews Tyler and Justin Walker all of Summertown; seven nephews, Joel Kennedy, David Kennedy, Terry Kennedy, Barry Foster, Marty Garretson, Mike Garretson and Danny Smith; three nieces, Barbara, Brenda and Nancy.

He was preceded in death by his pride and joy, great nephew, John Kennedy.

Pallbearers will be David Kennedy, Joel Kennedy, Terry Kennedy, Barry Foster, Mike Garretson, Marty Garretson, and Danny Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Sandy Hook Church of Christ, employees of Custom Steel Fabricators, Inc., and employees of By-Pass Market.
