Mrs. Clarice M. Allen, age 85, passed away on Thursday, August 26, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN.
Born on July 7, 1925 in Murphysboro, IL, Clarice was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ruth Van Hee Roberts. In 1947 she married Donald W. Allen and they made their home in Sikeston, MO, for almost 30 years. In 1975 they acquired their own business and moved to Poplar Bluff, MO. After Don's passing in 1991, Clarice moved back to her hometown of Marion, IL where she made her home until the late 1990s. She then moved to the Nashville, TN area to be near her son's family. She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and a life-long member of the United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her gentle and loving spirit.
Survivors include son, Bill Valerie Allen of Brentwood, TN; three grandsons, Austin Kate Allen, Chandler Allen and Parker Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Clarice was also preceded in death by her brother, Darwin Roberts of Chester, IL.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 4, at the Sikeston Memorial Park in Sikeston, MO, with Dr. Jim Davis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to the United Methodist Women, c/o Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Rd., Brentwood, TN 37027.
Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN is assisting the family with arrangements.
