Clarence David Sanders

April 10, 1914 — May 8, 2005

Mr. Clarence David Sanders, 91, a resident of Washington Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, May 8, 2005 at Vanco Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Goodlettsville.

Funeral services for Mr. Sanders will be conducted Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Delton Porter officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Hurricane Mills, Tennessee native was the son of the late, Wiley B and Malinda Lawson Sanders. He was the husband of Mary Edwards Sanders. Mr. Sanders began employment at Victor Chemical in Nashville, then transferred to Mt. Pleasant with Stauffer Chemical Company where he retired as a supervisor. He was a photographer and a consulting rosarian, having organized the Maury County Rose Society. He was a former minister of the Marcella Falls church of Christ for over twenty years and was a member of the Locust Street church of Christ for sixty-three years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Angeline Spurlock of Nashville, TN and Malinda Mirandy of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Alex Mirandy , William Mirandy and Molly Mirandy all of Marietta, GA, David Audra Spurlock of Goodlettsville, TN and Philip Spurlock of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Mary Rickman and Katie Hodges of Nashville, TN, one nephew, Billy Lewis of Nashville; several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Sanders, well-known firefighter in Nashville.

Pallbearers will be Randy Sprouse, Philip Spurlock, David Spurlock, William Mirandy, Molly Mirandy, Billy Lewis and Tommy Hagewood.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.
