Clara Drucilla Phillips Floyd, age 88, passed on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Mount Pleasant Rehabilitation.
Drucilla was born on November 8, 1930 in Giles County to the late Mattie Coleman and Robert Phillips. On November 1, 1947 she married the love of her life James Edward (Jim) Floyd. They were married for 49 years before his death in 1996. She drove a school bus for 23 years in Mount Pleasant. She was a long time member of the Porters Chapel United Methodist Church.
Drucilla is survived by her daughter, Debbie Floyd McKennon; Son, Kenny (Janet) Floyd; Grandchildren, Joseph McKennon, Ryan (Brittany) Floyd, Kendra (Drew) Nowlin, and Seth King; Great Grandchildren, Tyler, Ava Floyd, and Oaks Nowlin; In-laws,Ruth (Preston) Floyd, Bobby (Joyce) Floyd, and David (Gwen) Floyd. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bryson (Barbara) Phillips.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Bobby Gobble officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Dale Buchanan. Johnny Buchanan, Jeff Buchanan, Phil Floyd, Ricky Floyd, Bobby Floyd, and Randy (Buzz) Floyd. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews that loved their special Aunt Dru and the members of The Porters Chapel United Methodist Church.
Special thanks to all of her nurses and caretakers at Mount Pleasant Health and Rehab, who all loved and took very good care of our mother.
