Cindy Jane Lanier

Cynthia “Cindy” Jane Roberts Lanier, age 51 of Summertown, passed away at her residence January 2, 2013.

Cindy was born February 25, 1961 to the late Russell E. Roberts and Annie Ruth Spears of Mt. Pleasant, and she was the wife of Ricky Don Lanier. She graduated in the top 10 of the Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1979. Cindy was an avid softball player and coach. Cindy’s daughter, Heather, was four years old when Cindy started teaching her how to play softball. Cindy never met anyone without a smile.

Funeral services for Cindy will be conducted Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will follow at Hinestown Cemetery in Summertown.

The family invites friends into the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 P.M.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Ricky Don, are: her daughter: Heather Lanier McRight of Hohenwald; her mother: Annie Ruth Spears of Mt. Pleasant; her brothers and sisters: Sandy (Mark) Kinslow of Mt. Pleasant, Rusty (Donna) Roberts of Mt. Pleasant, Jeff (Yolonda) Roberts of Mt. Pleasant, Lisa (doug) Roberts Sims of Mt. Pleasant, Tracy Roberts of Summertown, and Kelley (Chris) Spears Henson of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father: Russell E. Roberts; stepfather: John Spears; and a brother: Mark Roberts.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Duberry, Christopher Lanier, Wayne Johnson, Larry Bennett, Mitchell Jones, and Dylan Henson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marshall Kinslo, Johnathan Kinslow, Dustin Roberts, and Curtis Roberts.
