Charlyn Martin, age 86 of Hohenwald, passed away August 1, 2013 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center following complications suffered from a stroke hours earlier.
Charlyn was born March 5, 1927 to the late Harry and Vivian Green Leeper in Farmington, Illinois. She attended college to become a teacher, which she was very involved in. She was a member of the Alaska, Colorado, and Illinois Education Association, along with several other organizations. She was a member of the Methodist faith.
Charlyn is survived by her husband of 49 years, Allen Martin. She is preceded in death by her son Vincent, who passed two days prior on July 30, 2013.
Arrangments will be announced Monday afternoon.
Williams Funeral Home in Columbia will be assisting the family with arrangements.
