Dr. Charlotte “Ann” Neeley, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on February 22, 2019 at Life Care of Columbia.
Ann was born on February 29, 1940 to the late William Howard Neeley and Ruth Elizabeth Murray Neeley. She lived on Washington Ave. in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee for over thirty years. She enjoyed learning and received many degrees: a Doctorate of Psychology, Masters in Nursing, and a Masters in ART. Ann began working as a registered nurse right out of college, then later spent years teaching nursing at Columbia State. She served as hospital administrator for multiple hospitals around the country for over twenty-five years in areas such as Chicago, Des Moines, Houston, New Orleans, and Florida. In her younger years, she developed and ran many adolescent psychology studies. When returning to her hometown in Mt. Pleasant to care for her parents, she then worked writing programs for the Saturn plant in Spring Hill.
Ann pursued a career in academia and higher management, choosing her career rather than having a family of her own. She treated her nieces and nephews, especially Tammi, as her children .
Ann is survived by her special niece Tammi Neeley (Tommy) McCall, who cared for her in her later years; great-niece Neeley McCall; and great-nephews Will McCall, Christopher Neeley, and Chase Neeley all of Columbia, Tennessee.
Ann was preceded in death by her brother William “Butch” Neeley and nephews James “Jamie” Neeley and William Todd Neeley.
Ann was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Mt .Pleasant. She enjoyed cooking, reading and teaching, and she had a passion for pretty jewelry and blooming flowers.
