Charles “Charlie” Ervin Anderson of Mt Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away at his home on April 16, 2013. Charlie was born August 2nd, 1943, in the Hampshire community. He was employed by the CS&X Railroad for 37 years as a train conductor.
Survivors include: his wife of 49 years, Ellen Brooks Anderson of Mt. Pleasant; his sisters, Mary Sue Voss of Williamsport, Martha Elizabeth Barker of Mt. Pleasant, Marie Filson of Columbia, Katherine Kay (Lloyd) Baxter of Santa Fe, Beulah Mai (Donald) Marshall of Columbia, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by: his son, Troyce Anderson; his parents John E. Anderson and Mary Kathleen Pogue Anderson, two brothers; James Claude Anderson, and Samuel Ray Anderson, a sister; Alma Jo Grimmett, special nephews; Tommy Anderson and Terry Filson, special niece; Pamela Filson Boshears.
Charlie will be missed by his friends: Donald Stonecipher, Johnny Stonecipher, Dave Wix, Ramon Zalagar, Tom Franklin, Ronnie Smithson, Larry Fox, Joel McFrisson, R E Duncan, R J Hayes, Malcolm Alley, Jr., Bobby Ray England, Johnny Brooks, Vernon Brooks and also Bill Johnson and all the CS&X Railroad workers.
The memorial service will be held Thursday, April 18th at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee at 11AM with visitation beginning at 10AM. Danny Douglas will be officiating.
Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Herbert Griffin Post 19.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Beech Hill Church of Christ.
