Charles Frank Woodard, age 71 passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on November 30, 2021 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Charlie was born on January 3, 1950 in Pulaski Tennessee to Charles Allen and Emma Viola Carpenter Woodard.
He was the sixth of eleven children born into farm life which he dearly loved. He learned to drive a tractor at the tender age of 6, and spent early mornings on horseback bringing in the cows to be milked. He loved fishing, walking in the woods, counting the deer in Cades Cove, and traveling anywhere and everywhere. Charlie retired from CSX railroad after riding the rails and switching cars for 34 years. He had a vibrant and quirky sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He loved diet Coke, Klondike bars, Thanksgiving Turkey, and chocolate pie. He dearly loved his family and grieved his time away from them when he was at work on the railroad.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Reba Lynn Morphis Woodard of Columbia. The light of his life, daughter: Emily Jill Woodard Steiner (Ryan) of Pensacola Florida. Special nieces Tara Lyn Morphis Smith (Eric) of Spring Hill, and Sara Beth Morphis (Trent) Mitchell of Santa Fe. Grandchildren Ryanne Steiner, Blake Smith, Sadie Smith, and Braddock Mitchell. Brother Jerry Wayne Woodard (Edith) of Pulaski, sister Joyce Hemphill of Elkton, Barbara Woodard and Wanda Carter of Prospect. Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A Memorial Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December 4th at 2pm at the First Baptist Church Columbia. A visitation will be held one hour before the service at the Church. Officiating will be Mike Dawson and Rick Blevins.
