Charles “Ed” Parker, age 83, a resident of Nashville, TN passed away Saturday June 8, 2013 at The Alive Hospice Unit, St. Thomas.
Charles was born on September 15, 1929 in Smyrna, TN to the late William and Mary Parker. Charles worked for many years as a carpenter in commercial construction. Charles loved the outdoors, working in the garden often growing flowers and various plants. He was known for his love of dancing, among his family. Charles was of the Christian faith. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at Polk Memorial Gardens beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Jeff Jacob will be officiating the services.
Charles is survived by his wife Rachel S. Parker of Nashville, TN; Two sons: Eddie Parker of Smyrna, TN and Jeffrey (Donya) Parker of LaVergne; Two daughters: Paula (Alvin) Hurt of Smyrna and Shelia (Terry) Thompson of Columbia, TN. Charles is one of nine children, he is survived by two Sam Parker of LaVergne and Ann Parker of Woodbury. Charles has 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Glinda Parker and his grandson Christopher Parker.
