Charles English Oliver, age 86, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Town Creek, Alabama.
Charles was born in Mt. Pleasant, TN on June 25, 1927 to parents Will Oliver and Grace “Dugger” Oliver. Charles worked at Occidental Chemical as a kiln operator from 1953-1991. He owned a small farm in Hampshire he called “Little Ponderosa”. He loved to laugh, his cows, his tractor, good food, ice cream, Christmas, and his birthdays. He was a good father, husband, and friend.
Services for Charles will be Wednesday, January 15 at Williams Funeral Home Mt. Pleasant at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, January 14 from 4:00 p.m.– 7:00 p.m. Rev. William Owens will officiate the service.
Pallbearers will be: Brian Calvert, J.R. Coats, Mark Hardy, Mickey Crews, and Dale Crews.
Charles is survived by: Wife; Margaret Oliver of Alabama, Daughters; Dorothy Fay Pullen of Las Vegas, Melissa (Billy) Holt of Alabama, Son; Jerry Wayne Oliver of Mt. Pleasant, Granddaughters; Christine McKennon of Mt. Pleasant, Kayla Stacy, Grandsons; David Brian Calvert of Alabama, J.R. (Tiffany) Coats of Springfield, TN, Great Grandchildren; David Blake Calvert, J.R. Coats IV, Kensleigh McKennon, Chloe McKennon, Kalie McKennon, Christopher Kennedy, and Jonathan Kennedy.
Charles is preceded in death by: Brother; Edward Oliver, Sisters; Dora Dean Hardy, Evelyn Crews, Rachael Beard, and Stepson; Johnny Coats.
