Charles Curtis Jacobs

Charles Curtis Jacobs, age 88, of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Charles was born to the late John R. Jacobs and Olive Brown Jacobs on August 22, 1926 in Maury County. Charles graduated from Central High School in 1944. He attended and graduated from Nashville Auto Diesel. Charles married Melba Massey on August 5, 1955 and the two began their journey together. Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Hooker Chemical Company. But Charles’ great joy in his life was farming. He loved sitting in the yard and waving while resting.

The family will visit with friends and family on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery.

Charles is survived by his loving wife Melba Jacobs; the greatest joy in his life, his little buddy, Chuck Clark; sister Annie Doris Priest; sisters-in-law Glenna Jacobs and Jeannie Tice; brother-in-law Joe Massey; special niece Stephanie (Michael) Clark Workman; special nephew TJ (Brittany) Tice; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents John R. and Olive Brown Jacobs; his siblings Earl (Emma) Jacobs, Ollie (Henry) Cayce, Amy (Dale) Baker, Lula Mai Prince Vestal, Robert (Olivia) Jacobs, and Gerald Jacobs.

Pallbearers will be Charles’ family and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers are William and Pat Nelson, Mack and Mary Scott, Steve and Kay Renfro, Donna and Bill Sexton, Walter and Joyce Marlin, WC and Jerri Johnson.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Mark and Monte at Maury Regional Medical Center Home Health Service.

Because of Charles’ great love of children, the family request for memorials to be made to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, 2200 Children's Way, Nashville, TN 37232.
