Charles Hubert “Bert” Glover, Jr., age 67, passed away with his wife at his side Thursday, November 11, 2021, at his home in Columbia, Tennessee. Charles was born January 8, 1954, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Charles Hubert Glover, Sr., and Carolyn Ann Glover.
Bert was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Bert retired from a lifetime of working in Masonry. Following retirement, he picked up woodworking and enjoyed crafting farmhouse furniture and other projects. He always had a passion for sports particularly the Florida Gators and the Atlanta Braves. Baseball held a special place for Bert. For several years he was the president of the little league in Jacksonville, FL, and coached as well. His greatest joy was watching his grandchildren play ball and sharing his passion for the game with them. Bert was a member of the West 7th Church of Christ in Columbia, Tennessee. Bert is loved and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Bert is survived by his wife: Jan Glover; children: Chip Glover and Erin (James) Glover Hedrick; stepchildren: Shannon (Richard) Lambert and Brandy (Wes) May; grandchildren: Joey Glover, Kaleesi Hedrick, Jaxyn Hedrick, Maddux Lambert, Knox Lambert, Harper Wilson, and Hayes Wilson; siblings: Jerry (Donna) Glover and Belinda (Richard) McDonald; K-9 companion: Tebow; and a host of family and friends.
A memorial service for Bert will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at West 7th Church of Christ in Columbia, Tennessee.
