Charles Edward Carpenter

Charlie was born on January 5, 1953 in Maury County. He was the son of the late Andy Liburn and Rebecca Lee Carpenter. Charlie was 57 years old and was a resident of the Golf Club Road in Mt. Pleasant. Charlie was a tree surgeon and was owner and operator of Charlie's Tree Service. He was a logger and also did construction work. Charlie loved fishing, welding and loved building barns. His favorite tree was the Crepe Myrtle. Charlie was a loving father and grandfather. He was a family man. Charlie was a member of the Southside Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.

Charlie is survived by his son, Bradley A. Carpenter of Mt. Pleasant and a daughter, Crystal Dawn Gilchriest of Mt. Pleasant; his brothers and sisters, Harold Wayne Carpenter, Paul Howard Shelia Carpenter, David Dwight Karen Carpenter, Douglas Linda Carpenter, Linda Faye Vernon Goodwin, Betty Jean Roberts, Rebecca Sue Carpenter and Shirley Ann Grady Chapman; his grandchildren, Ashley Paige Gilchriest, Katie Teal Kelley, Jaclyn Rose Kelley, Sara Belle Gilchriest, Jacob Gilchriest, Rebecca Mae Carpenter, Elizabeth Kay Carpenter, Jesse Dean Carpenter and Bradley Allen Carpenter. Charlie was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Ray Carpenter and Liburn Lee Carpenter.

Funeral services for Mr. Carpenter will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 in the chapel of the Williams Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Randy Kersey officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery.

The Carpenter family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Bradley Carpenter, Anthony Chapman, Harold Carpenter, Paul Carpenter, Jonathan Carpenter, Clifton Chapman, Keith Goodwin and Chris Goodwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Carpenter, Mitchell Patrick, Thomas Beard, Douglas Carpenter, Ryan Kelley, Vernon Goodwin and employees of Charlie's Tree Service.
