Charlene Ingrum Taylor

Mrs. Charlene Ingrum Taylor, age 72, a resident of Gray Lane in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, July 23, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Frank Webb, Rev. J. C. Christian and Rev. Dale Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Friday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant and from 11:00 A.M. until time of the service on Saturday at the church.

Born in Maury County on August 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Charles D. Ingrum and Mattie Lewis Ingrum. She was the wife of Rev. Jack Taylor of Mt. Pleasant whom she married on June 30, 1956.

She was retired from the Maury County Board of Education as a school bus driver and had also worked in the library at Baker Elementary School for 19 years. Charlene was very supportive of her husband in the ministry for some 29 years and loved working with him in the mission work for the Maury Baptist Association. She loved cooking for her family and all of the friends that came to their house. Charlene loved her flower garden and surrounding herself with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her children: Steven H. Taylor of Kansas City, MO, Lori Taylor Billy Ring of Mt. Pleasant, Michael C. Tina Taylor of Mt. Pleasant and Christie Taylor Kenny Waldrum of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Ashley Waldrum of Columbia, Justin Waldrum, Taylor Kaltenbach, Ryan Kaltenbach, Megan Ring, Garrett Ring and Kristen Taylor, all of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline Carol Taylor, a sister, Mattie Grimmett and a brother, Lewis D. Ingrum.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Kaltenbach, Ryan Kaltenbach, Garrett Ring, Justin Waldrum, Jerry Grimmett and Wayne Grimmett. Honorary pallbearers will be Bro. Raybon Kelley, deacons of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, pastors of the Maury Baptist Association, members of the Harvesters Sunday School class of First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, the CCU nursing staff at Maury Regional Medical Center along with the entire hospital staff.
