Cecil English Calvert

October 7, 1928 — July 5, 2002

Mr. Cecil English Calvert, 73, resident of Zion Acres, died Friday, July 05, 2002, in Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Calvert will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with C.V. Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

He was a native of Maury Co., the son of the late Ernest "Jack" and Leda Gibson Calvert. He was the husband of Evelyn Marie Dugger Calvert of Zion Acres. He was retired from the production department of Stauffer Chemical Company and was a member of the Halls Chapel Church of Christ.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters, Sharron Ernest Moore of Columbia, Janice Robert Atkins of Petersburg and Teresa Glenn Overstreet of Columbia; three sons, Gary Barbara Calvert of Summertown, David Benita Calvert of Mt. Pleasant and Stephen Calvert of Columbia; two brothers, Ernest Nettie Mae Calvert and Richard Vickie Calvert, both of Summertown; 11 grandchildren, Gina Gabriel Martinez of Pulaski, Patrick Russell of Columbia, Kevin White of Columbia, Casey Pilkinton of Columbia, Erica Dameron of Columbia, Kimberly Dave Cates of Columbia, Christie Calvert of Antioch, Brian Calvert of Columbia, Ashley Calvert of Pennsylvania, Cameron Calvert of Culleoka and Sherry Barry Boshers of Mt. Pleasant; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Meredith and Virginia Smith and one brother, J. B. Calvert.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Smith, Randall Pruitt, Randy Eastep, Terry Dugger, Nickie Calvert, Ernie Calvert, Danny Henson and Scottie Eastep. Honorary pallbearers will be retirees of Stauffer Chemical Company, Employees of Environmental Services and men of the Hall's Chapel Church of Christ.
