Catherine Staggs Whitwell

Mrs. Catherine Staggs Whitwell, 81, a former long-time resident of McLemore Street in Spring Hill, died Monday, July 22, 2002 at Hillview Health Care.

Funeral services for Mrs. Whitwell will be conducted Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Oliver Pantall officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Charlie and Blanche Ellen Ashmore Staggs. She was the widow of Edgar B. Whitwell who died September 24, 1988. She was a homemaker and a member of the Thompson Station Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son, Eddie Lajuana Whitwell of Spring Hill; a granddaughter, Christina Tom Lunn of Columbia; 2 grandsons, Brandon Catherine Whitwell of Spring Hill and Justin Whitwell of Murfreesboro; 2 great grandchildren, Ciera and Hunter Whitwell; 2 brothers, Britton Louise Staggs of Mt. Pleasant and Sewella "Pee-Wee" Juanita Staggs of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Noble Staggs.

Pallbearers will be M. H. "Cotton" Massey, Charles Staggs, Randy Staggs, Tom Lunn, Jim Pipkin, Brandon Whitwell, and Justin Whitwell. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Thompson Station Church of Christ.
