Catherine "Ramona" Pitts

Catherine “Ramona” Pitts passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at her home in Columbia, Tennessee.

Ramona was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee September 11, 1929 to the late Sterling B. Pitts and the late Kathleen Thompson Pitts. Following high school Ramona went on to Beauty school where she found one of her passions and went on to work as a beautician for over 50 years. In her early years she did a lot of traveling. She truly loved to go new and wonderful places including: England, Scotland, Holland, Yellowstone National Park, Nova Scotia, and Washington D.C. On these travels and everywhere else she took with her a good sense of humor, which she kept even into the final days of her life. She could often be found in her kitchen trying out a new recipe that she had seen on a cooking show or read in a new recipe book. Ramona lived a full and wonderful life, and will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Until 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. Services will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. with Bro Bob Mullenix officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, TN.

Pallbearers will be: David Pitts, Gary Pitts, Mark Pitts, Kenneth Pitts, Ryan Pitts, Heath Pitts, Jason Pitts.

Ramona is survived by her sisters: Josephine P. Hutchinson of Columbia, TN and Dorothy Allen of Columbia, TN; nieces: Kim (Chris) Brooks-Woody, and Linda Brown; nephews: David (Diane) Pitts, Gary Pitts, Mark (Wanda) Pitts, Kenneth (Lori) Pitts, and several other nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sibling: Frank E. Pitts, and great niece: Ashley Brooks.
