Mr. Carter Dean, 84, a resident of Roberts Drive in Columbia, died Monday, March 14, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Dean will be conducted
Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at 1:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. Burial will be in the Lynnwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 2:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
Born in Giles County, he was the son of the late Jack and Mammie Rosson Dean and husband of the late Ada Hendrix. He was a self employed farm laborer, working tobacco for Porter House and a fruit picker in Florida. He attended the Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Jimmy Wayne Wanda Dean of Mt. Pleasant and Carl Ray Dean of Columbia; a daughter, Joyce Ann Dean of Columbia; two step daughters, Josie John Boswell of Lynnville and Christine R.C. Oliver of Columbia; two step sons, William Dorothy Faye Hendrix of Spring Hill and James Hendrix of Columbia; five grandchildren, Sharon Rick Tiffner and Thomas Wayne Dean, both of Mt. Pleasant, Eddie Loyd Norman of Columbia, Brooke Raines of Pulaski and Jerry Ray Dean of California; three great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Jett, Rick Tiffner, Thomas Dean, R.C. Oliver and Terry Ray Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be staff and employees of Hidden Acres Nursing Home.
