Mr. Carroll S. Brown, Jr., age 71, resident of Redwood Circle in Columbia, passed away on Saturday, March 13th at Life Care Center in Columbia.
A service celebrating Mr. Brown's life will be conducted Monday, March 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in Columbia with Rev. BobVassar and Greg Wade officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.
The family will visit with friends on Monday from 12:00 noon until service time at the church. Williams Funeral Home in Columbia will be in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Brown was born December 25, 1938 in Marietta, GA. He was the son of the late Carroll S. Brown, Sr. and Tillie Mae White Brown. He was the husband of Margaret Foster Brown of Columbia. He was self-employed and owner of Brown Building System, LLC and was presently working for Ron Long Masonry. Mr. Brown was a member of the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. He served our country in the United States Air Force. He loved golfing, was an avid sports fan and stamp collector. He served on the building committee at Pleasant Heights Baptist church and was very active and involved in his church. Mr. Brown was in love with God and his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Brown is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Beth and Greg Wade of Franklin, TN; two sisters: Carolyn A. Brown of Decatur, GA and Patsy Brown Wilkerson of Loganville, GA. He had numerous cousins and extended family members whom he cherished.
Active Pallbearers will be Charlie Foster, Greg Wade, Tom Stegall, Kenneth Brown, Joe Newton, and Charlie Tisher.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Men's One Sunday School Class at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church.
