Carrie Mcclain Brewer

November 28, 1903 — February 6, 2003

Mrs. Carrie McClain Brewer, 99, a long-time resident of Florida Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, February 6, 2003 at Hidden Acres Nursing Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brewer will be conducted Saturday, February 8, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Parks and Reverend J.C. Christian officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Lewis County native was the daughter of the late Charles and Lori Skillern McClain and the widow of George Washington Brewer. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two daughters; Nenie Loretta John W. Henson of Memphis and Mary Sue Arthur Ray Hooper of Mt. Pleasant; three sons; Ordie Edward Brewer of Wyandotte, Michigan, Raymond "Blackie" Joan Brewer of Mt. Pleasant, and Waymond "Bill" Joan Brewer of Columbia; one sister, Pauline Singleterry of Dover, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters; Annie Brewer and Inis Brewer; two sons, J.D. Brewer and Herman Brewer; two sisters and four brothers.

Active pallbearers will be John W. Henson, Jr., Terry Brewer, Jerry Hooper, Michael Brewer, Tim Brewer, David Henson, Jerry Sands, Dennis Davis, Randall Woodard, Rick Brewer, and Randy Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be nurses and staff of Hidden Acres Nursing Home, members of Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and members of Allensville Baptist Church.
