Mrs. Carolyn Cecil Peterson, age 71, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Carolyn was born on November 25, 1944, in Flint, Michigan to Cecil Waltz and Caroline Pelham Waltz. Carolyn became the wife of David Peterson on February 22, 1964 and they built a wonderful life of love together. They enjoyed raising their three wonderful children, then received the blessing of five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Carolyn loved bragging about these precious ones every chance she got.
David recalls that Carolyn was an adorable and loving wife all the days of their marriage. They also enjoyed traveling the world together and she was his perfect travel partner. If you knew Carolyn for any amount of time at all you knew that she was kind and generous. She was very thoughtful and had the gift of encouragement. She also had a beautiful sunny smile. She worked as a volunteer at A Child’s Dream Pre-K.
Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband: David Peterson of Columbia; children: David (Noelle) Peterson, II of Columbia, John (Christine) Peterson of Michigan and Kimberly (Randy) Krawczyk of Arizona; grandchildren: Thomas Fletcher, Dakota Cartwright, Cole Peterson, Collin Krawczyk and Reilly Krawczyk; great-granddaughter: Aleia Fletcher; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents: Cecil and Caroline Pelham Waltz; and her sister: Nancy Cosand.
A memorial service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Columbia, Tennessee with Pastor Chuck Westra officiating. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
