Mrs. Carolyn Marie Wheeler, age 55, of Mt. Pleasant, went to be with her lord and savior surrounded by her family and friends on Tuesday, April 21st at her daughter's residence.
Services for Carolyn will be conducted Saturday, April 25th at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Brother Glenn Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at her family home place on the property of her brother, Tommy Shaffer.
The family will receive friends Thursday and Friday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wheeler was born in Lewis County on January 11th, 1954, daughter of Audrey Christine Shaffer of Ethridge and the late Wilburn Gooch Shaffer. She was the wife of Mr. Charles A. Wheeler Jr. of Mt. Pleasant.
Carolyn was a devoted homemaker, daughter, mother and grandmother of six. Her passion was making everyone around her happy, shopping and most of all being with her grandchildren. She was the strongest woman many ever met and she faced some of life's most challenging complications with her head held high and a heart full of hope, she never stopped fighting and she was an amazing individual. She was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her two daughters: Michelle James Trotter of North Carolina and Cary Lawrence Hull of Summertown; her grandmother: Pauline Pennington of Mt. Pleasant; stepdaughter: Ashley Wheeler of Columbia; stepson: Chuckie Wheeler of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren: Shelby and Dalton Hull, both of Summertown, Johnathon Oropesa, Joshua Trotter and Nina Trotter, all of North Carolina; one step-grandchild: Taylor Owens of Columbia; four sisters: Debbie McKennon and Connie Shaffer Madia, both of Mt. Pleasant, Clarinel White of Summertown and Linda Perry of Summertown; three brothers: Tommy Shaffer of Summertown, Danny Shaffer of Ethridge and George Shaffer of Texas; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers will be Franklin Shaffer, Larry Hardiman, Thomas "Bug" Shaffer, Johnny Glass, Matthew Wood, Vicky Wood, Billy Joe Norman Jr. and Gary McKennon Jr. Special thanks to the honorary pallbearers, who helped in this time of need: Lawrence and Debra Hull, Gary Wilkinson, Thelma Wilkinson, Nell Brannon, Martha Hull, MRMC Oncology Nursing Staff and Caris Hospice.
