Carolyn Keys Grissom

Mrs. Carolyn Keys Grissom, widow of Victor W. Grissom and a resident of Washington Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, December 13, 2003 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.

Funeral services for Mrs. Grissom will be conducted Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, TN with Reverend Phillip Wright officiating. Burial will be in the St. John?s Churchyard. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Roderick Reed and Carrie Cooper Keys. She was a graduate of Hay Long High School and attended Bowling Green Business College. She was a retired secretary at Rhone Poulenc. She was very active in several civic organizations, APTA, James K. Polk Society, Maury County Historical Society, Administrative Board of First United Methodist Church, Lorena Bourne Circle Women?s Society and The Kings Daughters and Sons.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Randy Matlock of Nolensville, TN; a son, Dickey Grissom of Columbia, TN; a sister, Miss Juanita Keys of Mt. Pleasant, TN; five grandchildren, Anissa Rodney Nicholson, Allison Ronnie Allen both of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Russell Grissom of Columbia, TN , David Matlock of Cookeville, TN and Daniel Matlock of Knoxville, TN; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Allen, Kayley Nicholson, Cody Allen and Dylan Nicholson all of Mt. Pleasant, TN.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William R. Keys.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Russell Grissom, David Matlock, Daniel Matlock, Rodney Nicholson, Ronnie Allen, Cody Allen and Vance Brummell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Members of J.B. Smith Sunday School Class, James H. Jones, Jr., Ruskin Vest, James Lindsey, Ted Sisco , Lem Wagster and Lee Dugger.
