Mrs. Carolyn Faye ?Sookie? Walker Kelly, a long time resident of Mt. Pleasant and a resident of Jefferson Parish, LA passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2007.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kelly will be conducted Wednesday February 21, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
The Mt. Pleasant native was the daughter of the late John Cecil and Cathryn Sullivan Walker and widow of Dean Kelly, Jr. Mrs. Kelly was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker, enjoyed reading, needle work, playing bingo and cooking for her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, James Kelly, Sr. of Waggamen, LA; mother-in-law to Pamela M. Kelly; grandchildren, James Kelly, Jr. and Natalie Kelly Scott Loupe both of Luling, LA; great-granddaughter, Abigail Loupe of Luling, LA; four sisters, Alleene Walker and Ruth Boshers both of Mt. Pleasant, Ann Jones of Nashville, TN and Betty Edmondson of Atlanta, GA; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Walker.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
