Mrs. Carolyn Joy Dial Wilkins, age 69, a resident of Denham Avenue in Columbia, passed away on Friday, October 30, at her residence.
Graveside services for Mrs. Wilkins will be conducted Monday at 2:00 PM in the Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Gilly Andrews officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
Born on March 16, 1940 in Maury Co., she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Gladys Gray Dial and the wife of Donald T. Wilkins, to whom she was married to for 51 years and 7 months. Mrs. Wilkins was a homemaker who loved to sew, bake bread and pies. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Donna Graves of Columbia, Cynthia Rick Gentry of Tullahoma and Thomas Melanie Wilkins of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren: Jenny Wilkins, KeriBeth Wilkins and Carol Anne Harlow; brother: Bill Dial of Columbia; sisters: Lorene Rick Young, Jenny Jerry Nichols, Katie Dial and Patricia Butch Derryberry, all of Columbia; 18 nieces and nephews, 15 great nieces and nephews and 6 great-great nieces and nephews; special friends: Brenda Thomason and Kathy Moser. She was preceded in death by sisters: Betty Nelson and Polly Nichols and a brother: Bobby Dial.
Pallbearers will be David Nichols, Jerry Nichols, David Derryberry, Terry Dial, Enoch George, Jimmy Tennyson and John Mayberry. Honorary pallbearers will be the Maury County Sheriff's Office.
