Carolyn J. Fly

Carolyn J. Fly, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. She was born on April 23, 1945. Born and raised in Columbia Tennessee, she moved to California to raise a family and then came back home in 1980.
Carolyn was a longtime member of the Church of Christ community. She retired from Maury Regional Medical Center after dedicating 22 years. Carolyn loved having parties for family and friends, some of her parties were called “Uncle Archie Parties” and “Elvis Parties”. She was the last of nine children.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, James Morris Fly; brothers: O’neal Thomas, Elvis Thomas, James Thomas, Melvin Thomas, and Ray Thomas; sisters: Shirley Thomas Young, Opaline Thomas Underwood, and JoAnne Thomas Young
Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons: Keith (Tammy) Cates; David (Susan) Fly, and Bryan Fly; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. A funeral service for Ms. Carolyn will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2022, at 10:00 AM, she will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery.
