Carol Pitts Goodman

Mrs. Carol Pitts Goodman, age 80, a resident of Adams Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at NHC Hillview.

Funeral services for Mrs. Goodman will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 6, at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Phillip Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Born on October 14, 1928 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late George W. Pitts and Maybelle Goodwin Pitts. She was the wife of the late Glen E. Goodman. Mrs. Goodman was a seamstress and made the uniforms for the Mt. Pleasant High School band. She was a lifelong member of the Mt. Pleasant First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children: Brenda Carol DeWitt Logsdon of Columbia and Jerry Glen Marsha Goodman of Murfreesboro; grandchildren: Jeffrey DeWitt Logsdon and Andrew Charles Logsdon, both of Columbia and Kristen Gail Goodman and Brandon Glen Goodman, both of Murfreesboro; one sister: Margaret Pitts Parson of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Lena Mae Pitts, Cleveland Pitts, Zena Pitts, Cecil Pitts, William C. Pitts, Melvin Pitts, and Nellie Pitts White.

Pallbearers will be Steve Jones, Jeremy Moody, Brandon Goodman, Sam Goodman, Jeff Logsdon and DeWitt Logsdon. Honorary pallbearers will be Minnie Lindsey, Kay Spears, Betsy Anderson, Tommy Shedd, Jim and Pam Hudson, Helen Douglas, Dr. J. Cummins Couch, members of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant and nurses and staff of NHC Hillview.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant, 202 South Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474.
