Mr. Carl Wesley Pierce, 62, resident of Old Lawrenceburg Highway in the Sandy Hook Community, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 at his residence.

Born January 24, 1949 in Dearborn, MI, son of Anna Mae Young Pierce and the late Jimmy Pierce, Sr. and the husband of Georgia Basham Pierce. He was a carpenter by trade, doing siding for McGaw Industrial, Inc. His hobby was collecting coins and sports memorabilia. Mr. Pierce was US Marine veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children: Rojean Wilt, Jimmy Albert Pierce and Lionel Pierce, all of Detroit, MI; step-children: Chris Frazier of Mt. Pleasant and Robin Weaver of Columbia; sister: Dianne Abray of Mt. Pleasant; 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother: Jimmy Pierce, Jr.

A memorial service for Mr. Pierce will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Sandy Hook Church of Christ with Jeff Waldrop officiating. The family will gather with friends prior to and after the service at the church.
