Carl Vance Chapman, age 65, a resident of Stephenson Road in Summertown, passed away Wednesday, November 9 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Born January 15, 1945 in Giles County, he was the son of the late Looney and Bertha Allen Chapman and the husband of Brenda Isbell Chapman. He was a semi retired truck driver and owner/operator of an excavating business.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Tammy Dugger of Summertown; sons: Vance Chapman of Pulaski, David Chapman of Summertown and Terry Jester of Santa Fe; brothers: Marvin and Hazel Chapman, both of Summertown and Forace Chapman of Columbia; sister: Minnie Nelson of Ethridge; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Elwood, Johnny, Virgil, Alton, Horace and Melvin Chapman.
Funeral services for Mr. Chapman will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, November 12 in the chapel of the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Adam Runions, Trent Chapman, Aaron Chapman, Ross Davenport, Ronnie Scott, Jeff Chapman and Jeff Scott. Honorary pallbearer will be Ty Chapman.
