Calvin Rich

December 22, 1924 — September 25, 2004

Mr. Calvin Eugene ?Gene? Rich, 79, a resident of North Bigby Drive in Columbia, died Saturday, September 25, 2004 at NHC/ Columbia Health Care.

Funeral services for Mr. Rich will be conducted Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at 11:00 am at the Hacker Funeral Parlor in Sandusky, Michigan. Burial will be in the Downing Cemetery in Deckerville, Michigan with military honors provided by the Sandusky VFW Post 2945. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Williams Funeral Home of Columbia is in charge of local arrangements.

Born in Sandusky, Michigan, he was the son of the late Albert and Carolyn Graves Rich. A long-time resident of Sandusky and Flint, Michigan, he was retired from the assembly line at General Motors in Flint, Michigan. He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a professional grandfather.

He is survived by five daughters, Christine Earl Claspell of Columbia, TN, Cynthia Randall Wood and Sharon Tim Raymond, both of Flint, MI, Dina Gibson and Mary Jr. Lopez of Tahoka, TX; two sons, Gary Eugene Linda Rich of Flint, MI and Harold Joan Rich of Grand Blanc, MI; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; four sisters, Nina Watson, Lena Heemer, Ruby Pagen and Donna Adair, all of MI; three brothers, Edward Rich, Vernon Rich and Duane Rich, all of MI. He was preceded in death by ex-wife, Jeanette Rich, a grandson, Brandon Lee Wood; brothers and sisters, Viva McQueen, Velma Nichols, Winifred Lepine, Herbert Rich and Floyd Rich.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
