Bruce DeWayne Hicks, 26, a resident of Lake Drive in Columbia, passed away Tuesday, August 18 in Riverside, CA.
A celebration of Bruce s life will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Greg McCoy, Rev. John Rushing and Jerry Strahan officiating. Internment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born January 22, 1983 in Covington, KY, Bruce was the son of Brenda Hicks Siegel of Columbia and Kenneth Hicks of Sparta, KY. He attended Culleoka and Mt. Pleasant schools and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. A graduate of Volunteer Trucking School, he was employed at Rajor Trucking of Spring Hill.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers: Brian Douglas Jessica Hicks of Columbia and PFC Bradley Victor Hicks of South Korea; very special nephew: Avory Taten Hicks of Columbia; special aunts and uncles: Sharon & Lloyd Gray of Culleoka, Darlene & Kenneth Powell of Louisville, KY, Doug & Betty Brown of Corbin, KY, Vada & Doug Haley of Knoxville and Phyllis & Glenda Hicks of Union, KY; cousins: Kimberly, Gary, Kaeli, Ciera and Korbin Riggs, Kelli and Jack Beaty, Allen and Dallas Alvey, all of Louisville, Stephanie, Brian, Brittany and Nick Munsie, all of Columbia and Jenny Rhodes of Union, KY.; his fishing buddy: Ray Lentz. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Roxie Brown, H.T. Brown, Earl and Sophie Hicks.
Pallbearers will be Brian Douglas Hicks, PFC Bradley Hicks, Brian Munsie, David Smithson, Dan Noland, Allen Alvey, Kenneth Hoder and Ray Lentz. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Rajor Trucking.
