Brittney Lynn Blankenship, age 16, passed away into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, December 8, 2013 while surrounded by her family.
Brittney was the daughter of Mary Ann Lovett Blankenship and Timmy Gray, both of Mt. Pleasant, and of the late Daniel Blankenship and was born on April 28, 1997 in Columbia, Tennessee.
Brittney loved all kinds of music, having very eclectic taste. She also enjoyed swimming very much. She loved shopping – she wanted to go shopping with anyone who was going and never passed up an opportunity. Additionally, she loved horses whether riding or just spending time watching them.
In addition to her loving mom and dad, she is survived by her grandparents: Alleene Lovett, Betty Gray and Donald Blankenship, Sr.; siblings: Christina Blankenship, Terry (Charity) Lovett, Dewayne (Breanna) Gray and Robert (Tiffany) Blankenship; nieces: Kali Lovett and Shelbie Gray; nephews: Gage Lovett, Ryan Gray, Carson Gray, Daniel Archer and Thomas Blankenship; aunts and uncles: Donna (Eric) Puckett, Patricia (Tilden) Workman, Kenny (Kathy) Lovett, John Lovett, Anthony Gray, Bobby (Regina) Gray, and Donald (Nancy) Blankenship of Prattville, AL. and cousins: Lori Lovett, Audrey Lovett, Eric (Jessica) Lovett, Kaitlyn Lovett, Allison Lovett and Hailey Lovett. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her grandparents: Rufus Lovett and James Gray and uncle: David Blankenship of Virginia.
Funeral services for Brittney will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Jeff Foster and Tony Curtis officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, December 11 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In honor of Brittney’s life, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Williams Funeral Home, P. O. Box 38, Columbia, TN 38402.
Brian Gray, Phil Counts, Patrick Gray, Brennan Dugger, John Puckett, Derek Gray and Buddy Odom will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gage Lovett, Ryan Gray, Carson Gray and Brittney’s extended family Pam Holland, Brenda Malugin, Lori Adams and the Caris Healthcare Team.
